Genius Recognizes Genius

Today, the incredibly talented genius Rob Zombie posted a tribute to the genius Jerry Lewis on Facebook. Rob is hoping to become Jerry in the way that they can take control of their own productions. They can write, produce, direct, hire staff, hire actors, and expertly communicate with the entire production team to produce genius on the big screen.

It is no secret the amazing talents of Jerry Lewis. He started out doing stand-up comedy and worked that into a movie gig with Dean Martin. Lewis knew when that gimmick was played out and started making his own movies, big movies, that were global hits and that are still available today to include in your home theater collection and which are aired on many cable TV stations all the time. I am not sure there are any projects of Lewis that I do not like. He did get involved in an ill-conceived film "Slapstick of Another Kind" based on a Kurt Vonnegut novel called "Slapstick" and Lewis publicized it on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. 

The Rat Pack era is long gone and there is nothing that can replace it. The actress Shirley MacLaine claimed to be the only female member of the elite group and she worked with Jerry in the film "Artists and Models" and said that Jerry was always in motion, active and involved in all aspects of the scenes they were shooting. But when the cameras were not rolling, he was a bit introverted. There is a lot of down time when filming a major motion picture and the stars have to keep busy yet not tire themselves out while waiting for their scene to be set up. So Jerry would race to his dressing room suite and start playing records, or tinkering with his stereo system, with his tape-recorder, since electronics and how things worked, fascinated him. This would lead to his own career as a filmmaker and knowing how the cameras worked, learning about the sound system, the sound effects, along with learning how to stage a scene, and so forth.

The polar opposite is the stain on a satellite which is Howard Stern. He never launched out of radio but not without trying. But talent will out and Howard has none. He was stuck on the radio with the gimmick of airing live celebrity interviews on terrestrial radio but Howard would normally ruin the interviews anyway and they are of no value, meaning, nobody wants to ever hear the Stern interviews with celebrities ever again. Same with that E Channel show, when the cable network just filmed Stern's terrestrial radio show and edited it for television but it was useless for posterity. No one wants to see those shows again, there is no value to them, garbage then and now.

So where is Howard? The Stern Camp tried to pay Arbitron to skew the numbers and use it as a bargaining tool with Sirius but Howard looked like a tool after the numbers came out. Arbitron tried to come up with the actual number of listeners to the Stern satellite radio show in 2007/08 and made the claim it was the most listened to show on Sirius which is the funniest thing coming from the Stern Camp in ten years.

Yes - even the just over 1.2 million listener number was fiction:

Stern is barely managing to get just over 600,000 followers on Facebook after being on satellite for 11 years.

Howard will be busy over the next few months stalking Jimmy Kimmel to script his big appearance when Jimmy's late night talk show comes back to Brooklyn on October 16 for a week of shows. We remember Stern stalked Jimmy last year and appeared on his show when it was filmed in Brooklyn and Howard made sure audiences knew that he knows Senator Chuck Schumer [who was in the audience], the cousin of Miss Piggy Amy and why we are stuck with her on our plate until she is finally roasted. So what are you Howard? A Democratic or Republican? We know Jimmy has taken sides with the Democrats and had Chuck Schumer sitting in his audience when he broadcasted his show last year from Brooklyn with Howard crowing about knowing the guy and why Stern kisses Amy's butt every chance he gets. 

What will Howard the Coward do? Will he show up again on Jimmy Kimmel live from Brooklyn and piss off The DON? Doesn't Beth play both sides too? Without Old Lady Lois Pope, Miss Republican, Beth would have less than nothing, and never would have gotten that annual gig hosting the Hero Dog Awards in LA, a brainchild of Pope to push her foundation and partner with that disgusting American Humane Association that does almost less than zero to help the welfare of humans or animals but collects a lot of corporate dough while doing it.
