Stern Fears the Furlough

This will be the third year in a row of the new ruling by Howard Stern's boss Jennifer Witz, that he be laid off for two months during the summer, just like what is also happening with Jimmy Kimmel, he too has been furloughed during the summer.

The major media companies do this when they are stuck in a contract with an overpriced aging celebrity and they can't get rid of them. They want new talent at a cheaper rate to host these shows since they know it won't matter with the viewers - like when the network finally ousted Wendy Williams. She was making tons of money over the going market rate so they finally got her to quit and hired the cheap Sherri Shepherd.

So, they test the waters by kicking them off the air and hiring guest hosts and they see that there is no change in viewership. But with Howard, he always has it in his contracts that no one can be a guest host when he is gone, they must play his reruns. This continues to this day when he switched to satellite radio. Howard knows full well that listenership would remain the same with a guest host doing new content on his channel, same with terrestrial radio, the ratings would not have changed and might have actually improved which is hardly something Stern can take to a contract negotiating table, that the ratings improved during his absence. 

Same with Sirius, the subs may climb if Stern would leave and they can delete Howard 101 and just have Howard 100 for his stale reruns and old music specials. Of course this is the plan for the platform as Jennifer Witz is biding her time until this last contract renewal has expired and Stern is out of options. 

There have been alleged insiders saying that Stern has a list of demands - as already blogged about numerous times - which include Boss Witz getting him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But of course, Sirius would have to fund it and they refuse. The celebrities themselves or their network or corporation normally funds those, like for Andy Cohen when he got his star and Bravo TV funds that. Howard has no one to fund it but himself and the cash poor inebriated old soul can barely afford to butter his bread let alone get his name and a star on a sidewalk.

So here we have the panicked Howard Stern facing yet another furlough this summer in July and August and is fearing being ignored more than usual. He constantly pays for publicity and has to 'shock' people with his statements to get some space in the online media sites and hopefully create a buzz for the weaved has-been.

Now we've got a TikTok stooge playing the Stern fame game, going viral with a compilation video of past interviews Howard did with celebrities, namely the females he's berated and only wanted to talk sexually with them or about their appearance and plastic surgery, and their private lives leaving no sexual deviant stone unturned.

This is the only way he can publicize his stale Sirius satellite radio show to inform the general public and the TikTok trannies that he is still alive and did all these scathing past interviews and gee, you can sub to Sirius right now. Hey, it will be a good time to catch up on the old show tapes that will be played this summer while Stern stews in his own pot of irrelevancy along with this equally ignored wife Beth Ostrosky Stern who does nothing all day but badger cats and post a ton of irrelevant photos on her Instagram show pretending she houses a bunch of feral felines when she doesn't. She has a bunch of photos taken all at one time and then doles out the photos as if they live with her when they don't. They are sitting at adoption centers as she keeps that conveyor belt rolling of fresh felines to photograph to justify her grabbing at the cash donations and getting her cosmetic surgery procedures and new wigs since she justifies that thinking she is a public figure. Well, she has a public freak figure, that's for sure.

Beth Does Nothing Update

Beth Stern continues to recycle old photos from her Instagram show pretending they are current as she tries to drum up interest in her blog she does for the charity that pays her a salary as their useless spokesperson and useless board member, the North Shore Animal League. Beth keeps hoping that little blog will turn into a daily segment on daytime television but she can't get any sponsors and her husband Howard won't fund it.
