The E! Channel execs had to take control of him since he has no clue about the medium of television or hosting a talk show, so they told Howard they were only going to film his daily radio show with Robin Quivers.
Normally, the E! Channel would air a half-hour rerun of his radio show plus a half-hour featuring a new show and rotate the episodes. Howard copied that format by having Howard 101 as the rerun channel with some specials produced for that channel, but the main, current content is on Howard 100.
But, Howard is not a podcaster. Some articles and idiots online may drop that term referencing the stale Stern satellite radio show, but it is not accurate and it's a stupid thing to hang onto in the first place. Just because his satellite radio show is available on the Sirius app and will be replayed at later times, does not mean it is a podcast. It is a live broadcast featuring various topics and various people and does not qualify as a podcast.
Radio shows whether on satellite or not, like Radio Andy and the Howard Stern Show, are live broadcasts often hours long, and do not dedicate much time to one topic. Podcasts are usually episodic and will often spend an entire show exploring one topic and they are not a live broadcast, but recorded and available on a variety of platforms wherever podcasts are available.
Andy Cohen's 'Daddy Diaries' is considered a podcast, but Howard does not produce any podcasts, just his live weekly radio show that may include a celebrity interview, but it is considered a live broadcast that will be available later for streaming on the Sirius app or if you have Internet access if you miss the live broadcast.
Howard Loses out on Golden Globe
Award Consideration
It's been press released that now podcasters will be eligible for a Golden Globe nomination and sorry, folks, Stern is not a podcaster and is not eligible. Let's get this straight once and for all time.
"The Howard Stern Interview" which is a part of his weekly LIVE satellite radio show is NOT eligible for a Golden Globe award nomination because he is not a podcaster. Howard would have to try to get into some other category to be nominated, like when his interview with Bruce Springsteen aired on HBO, but he failed to get any cable TV nominations for that broadcast that was just a tape of his live radio show celebrity interviews like what the E! Channel used to do.
Howard Stern is NOT listed as eligible for a Golden Globe and neither is Andy Cohen from Radio Andy. Why? Because their live radio shows are not podcasts. As stated, Andy Cohen does produce a podcast called "Daddy Diaries" but it did not make the cut to be eligible for a Golden Globe because only the top tier podcasts are eligible.
Among the most listened to and top rated podcasters eligible for a Golden Globe award is Tranny Alex's, "Call Her Daddy", and the $cience Lover's podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience". Howard Stern is not a podcaster and is not eligible and Andy Cohen's "Daddy Diaries" podcast didn't make the cut.
